Put yourself in the best light possible
Shine on your family name

Dip yourself in etiquette before you go out into the night
and before you speak put on your golden tongue
and bite your anxiety back

Brush away your yellow teeth
and fold under your nappy hair
Speak according to tradition and of your neighbors be aware

Though you may feel the need for friends and family to know
exactly how you feel,
just bite your lip and tongue and think
about your heritage and flair.

Step out from under the black cloud
And warm your fetid brain
In the best light possible
Shine on your family name
